Location
I took this photo in my hometown of Dazey, North Dakota. I have a very dear friend that has a bunch of horses right on the outskirts of town. Ever since I was young I would always help her with the horses and always love to take pictures of them.Time
This is still one of my favorite photos that I have taken. It was a complete coincidence that it turned out the way that it did. All of the horses are very friendly and it is hard to get photos when they are right in your face. It was awhile ago that I took this but if I remember correctly it was early afternoon when the shot was taken.Lighting
This shot really happened as a coincidence so I didn't have any special lighting. It was just the beauty of nature and a great day.Equipment
I believe I took this photo with my Nikon Coolpix S630. I did not use any other equipment.Inspiration
I am always inspired when I am around horses to take photos. I always have either my camera or phone with me so I can take photos.Editing
The only post-processing that I did with this photo is turn it black and white. I am very partial to black and white photos over color so I always see how the photo will look in black and white when editing. In my camera bag
I currently have a Canon Rebel T6i in my bag along with a 75-300 mm lens and a 18-55 mm lens. I also have a tripod and some filters that I have not tried to use yet but definitely plan to get those out this summer and give them a try.Feedback
My advice for taking pictures of over friendly horses is always to use treats or food as I did for this photo. The horses are having a little snack which helped for me to get the almost heart shape of them. I am always super patient when it comes to working with any animals as it always takes quite a few shots to get the perfect one.
