I was at the Georgian Terrace Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia for an event and I got there a bit early so I was sitting in the lobby and I looked up and saw this view and decided it was worth capturing to share since it was a different perspective.Time
This was taken in the lobby of the Georgian Terrace Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia at 5:05 pm on May 18th 2011. I think I laid down on the bench in the lobby to get the shot.Lighting
There was natural light in the hotel lobby where I was sitting coming in from the windows at my level as well as the ones ones above me so I decided I didn't need additional to capture this shot.Equipment
I captured this with my Nikon Coolpix P80 with focal length 4.7 mm, shutter speed 1/76, Aperture f/4.0. The camera was set in Black and White + Color mode.Inspiration
As I was sitting in the lobby waiting for my event to start I looked up and saw this view and decided it would look better if it was captured in Black and White instead of color. The lines and the circles really spoke to me as well as the angle I was able to get laying down on the bench in the lobby.Editing
I didn't need post-processing on this shot. The Nikon CoolPix P80 can shoot a black and white and color version of the same shot in all modes other than auto. I shared the unedited black and white version.In my camera bag
In my bag I usually have my Nikon Coolpix P80 with 32gb memory card and and extra 16 gb memory card. I may also have my Nikon D3300 with 64 gb memory card and extra 32 gb card.Additionally my Nokia Lumia 928 and my Samsung Galaxy S7 will be there too. Extra batteries for each Nikon will be included in my bag once I get them.Feedback
To those who like interesting perspectives and views I would say look around and you will see inspiration. Visit new places and look for interesting architecture. Know your camera modes and features. Experiment with different shots and take lighting into consideration. Indoor shots with natural lighting can look better than using a flash. Keep shooting and learning and sharing.
