Nice capture here Nicole. I ALWAYS look for reflections in very still water that looks like a mirror. Very cool and keep up the good work. Thanks for stopping by my page.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Pemaquid Point lighthouse in Maine, a place my family travels to nearly every summer. Surrounding the lighthouse are rocks great for climbing, and occasionally some tide pools will be after the tide goes out.

Time

This photo was taken after I spent the morning climbing around the rocks and exploring the tide pools closer to the water.

Lighting

The lighting is all natural from the mid-morning sun.

Equipment

This was shot with my Canon Rebel T3i camera.

Inspiration

I simply wanted to capture the lighthouse in an interesting and unique way, and as I had been exploring the tide pools, I happened upon this perfect view from the pool. It still captures the beauty of the lighthouse, but from a natural perspective.

Editing

No post-processing

In my camera bag

I typically keep both my 200mm lens and my 55mm lens in my bag.

Feedback

Look for an out-of-the-ordinary angle for well-photographed landmarks.
