Location
I took this photo at the local Calgary Zoo in Alberta. It was at the indoor enclosure for the monkeys.Time
It was taken in doors and through a glass window.Lighting
I had to take the photo at an ISO 800 cause of the dark indoor lighting. I did f/4.4 to focus on the monkey rather then the mucked up walls.Equipment
I used a Fuji Fixed Lens S100FS camera. I couldn't use a flash cause of the glass. The tripod ended up being useless for the monkey moved to fast and barely sat still. It made it hard to take a good photo.Inspiration
I loved how the monkey would come on the stretch of the wood and just sit there all thoughtful. HIs face was priceless and I had to capture it. I worked on getting photos of him just sitting when he stopped enough to sit. Lot of waiting in one spot in hopes he would come and sit at that spot.Editing
I used a bit of touch up on the photo, there was spots from the dirty glass. I boosted the color mostly to give his fur a rich look.In my camera bag
When I go to the zoo, I always take an extra battery, lens cloth to keep my lens cleaned and a tripod.Feedback
Most part I had trouble with, was the focus on the monkey without the glare of the glass. I had to sit and wait for people to get out of the way of the glass that was causing glare spots and odd shape images on my photo. I kept my Aperture at f/4.4 so the focus was on the monkey and any glares or dirt on the window would make it look like background and wouldn't take from the focus of the main character I wanted to shot.
