I love equestrian photography the power and beauty of horses is unmatched as far as I'm concerned. When I switched from general photography I found out that it took a little practice and skill too decide what light etc was needed to capture this beauty. Of the thousands of pictures I have taken this picture is my favorite it shows a horse and it's old age that encompasses reflects even us as we grow older we become more beautiful sometimes it just takes a special light to bring it out. This photo in riches my heart every time I look at and I'm so happy that so many people also enjoy it!Time
I saw this horse in a field about 50 yards away and something about it made me stop my car and get out with my camera as I did it's slowly walked up to the fence and turned his head as if to say here I am get me now take a picture and show me how I look today after 25 years of hard work I still don't look too bad do I of course it didn't really say that but that's what I imagined and I took it and here it is.Lighting
The lighting from a sunny day and partially clouded sky was perfect.Equipment
This was taken on a Canon with a 50 mm lens from just a few feet awayInspiration
This horse was so graceful for almost forgot to take the picture Lol.Editing
NoIn my camera bag
My back is full of lenses and filters I don't really pay that much attention to him until I need one!Feedback
My advice is if you love something if something just moves your heart and your imagination when you look at it when you consider the possibilities it promises you, just take the picture and take many, and when you get home you'll find the one to keep forever and to share with the world!! This beautiful creature in this photo has since passed away because this was taken several years ago. But for a moment of time that will last forever through this picture he gave me a lifetime of joy and his grace and beauty will last forever. That's what photography is, and that's what we do because it gives us joy!!
