Location
I took this photo at my grandmothers house, who is 98 years old. She is also Camerons', (in the photo), great great grandmother. She has a lovely view of birds right out her kitchen window and I have taken many nice photos there. I gave Cameron, who was 8, my spare emergency camera to play with and I thought I could sneak in a picture of him without him knowing it. My spare camera has a broken screen but still takes great pictures. It's only a full auto pocket model but it's better than nothing.Time
This was taken about 11 am as we were there to have tea with my grandmother.Lighting
It was taken without a flash as he was in front of a south facing window.Equipment
I use a Fuji Finepix S4000 and it was freehand. It is always freehand at my grandmothers as she doesn't like her picture taken.Inspiration
He looked very intent and was totally absorbed, it was too good to pass up.Editing
The only processing I did for this picture was to put a vignette around it to draw the eye to the subject. In my camera bag
All I carry is my two cameras, 4 sets of batteries, a 6 inch tripod and a full size monopod.Feedback
My advice is that my camera is always on, you never know when a shot will present itself. If your camera is off. you've missed it.
