Location
Took this shot when I was on Holiday in Skye, we were based in a local cottage, 5 minutes walk from here.Time
This was taken early afternoon, we had been out all morning in the car and wanted to walk the dog, the weather was changing all the time and it was cold, really cold.Lighting
I wanted this shot to shout "look at the weather" and it seemed to work, the Boats were centre stage and the sky was drama filled.Equipment
This was with a Panasonic GX1, Fisheye lens and hand held, I had a cove rover the camera as it was spitting and looked to be getting worse soon.Inspiration
I love the Coast, always speaks volumes on local trades and history of what used to be, as it was close to us it was a daily visit till the end of the holiday. I'd love to go back one day.Editing
I've converted to B&W as the original was colour and then adjusted the curve, making the clouds stand out more.In my camera bag
Back when I took this I didn't have much gear, now I have a sling bag, 5Diii and 2 lenses, 16-35L ii and a 70-200 DG Sigma. 430II flash and a few filters, some remote triggers and a Manfrotto tripod. I sometimes ask myself where do you draw the line to what you carry?Feedback
My advice to others in capturing something like this is to get out and look for it, you won't shoot things like this sat on the couch. Enjoy.
