Location
i took this shot during a sunset walk along the coast of the croatian city rovinj in summer 2014. although it was just a 4 day holday trip with my loved one it was perfect weather, nice people and a lot of patience from my girlfriend which made it possible to catch this mood.Time
just during sunset, after dinner the colors in the sky where just mindblowing:)Lighting
the dynamic of the light were just to strong for a simple exposure, so i switched on the braketing to get 3 images with +/- 2ev.Equipment
i used my loved nikon d7100 which is perfectly accompanied by my walk arround lens, the sigma 18-35/1.8Inspiration
i just wanted to catch the moment which was just perfect.Editing
i used hdr in photoshop to create a 32bit tiff file which was further processed in lightroom to bring out the sky as well as the city scape. In my camera bag
my equipment usually contains my nikon d7100 and the sigma 18-35/1.8 for minimum walk arround setup. if i carry my bag i usually take my wideangle sigma 10-20, the nikon 60mm/2.8 macro lens and the nikon 70-200/4.0. as i like landscape a lot i always carry a formatt hitech 100mm filterset with graduate nd and standard nd filters with. ther is also a sb700 flashlight and a very sturdy giottos carbon tripod with me. at the end but important to me are a bag full of tools, cleaning tools and spare battery and sd cards. new to my equipment since two days is a fujifilm x-e2 with the 18-55/2.8-4.0 as a very light travel setup. i can expand this setup with a adaptor for my nikon f-mount lenses. seems like a lot of tools, but i try to carry only what i need, which is in my opinion sometimes everything. too heavy, thats why i now try to set up a lighter bag with the fujifilm...Feedback
if you try to catch such a high dynamics scene, try to do different exposures to give you optimum post processing possibilities. i always try to reproduce the colors as acurate as possible, otherwise i'm not comfortable with the final image.
