Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Nine Pin, which is along the D'Encastreaux Channel, Tasmania ~ Australia

Time

I was set up to do a Sunset Shoot ~ approximately 5-50pm (Tasmania time)

Lighting

No lighting was used. Just the natural light from the setting sun.

Equipment

Nikon D3100, Tamron 17-50mm lens, Manfrotto tripod.

Inspiration

I always find it to be calming, refreshing and relaxing being by the water. Be that a Waterfall, the Ocean, a lake and Sunset is always a beautiful time of day to ponder.

Editing

This image was processed in Lightroom 3. I did some minor Noise reduction and also altered the contrast and clarity sliders. I took down the highlights and whites a little too, to make the image a bit softer.

In my camera bag

Nikon D7100 and Nikon D3100. Tokina 11-16mm Wide Angle Lens. Tamron 17-50mm lens. Tamron 90mm Macro Lens. Nikon 55-300mm lens. Hoya ND400 Lens Filters for all lenses. Nikon SB900 Speedlight.

Feedback

The settings for this shot are as follows ... ISO 100 | 24mm | f/2.8 | 25sec exp. I always have a play with the Contrasts post processing to see if a photo can be slightly altered for the better. I also adjust Highlights and Whites to soften images a touch too.
