I have always had a passion for the Red Arrows display team since I was a very small child, whenever they display I watch in awe and can not help but try to capture an impression of their grace and speedEditing
With this image I had to adjust both contrast and saturation as the sky conditions gave a slightly hazy image, these small adjustments helped to draw the planes and smoke out of the sky and made everything stand out more.In my camera bag
I am a confirmed Canon user and have been since my fist A1 in 1979! I use a Canon 7D and 5D and have a range of canon lenses including the EF 100-400L Zoom, EF 70-200L f2.8 Zoom, EF 100mm Macro, EFs 10-22mm zoom and the workhouse EF 24-105mm L series zoom. I also have a canon flash and a lightweight and heavy duty tripod depending of circumstances.Feedback
I have found with air show photography you need high shutter speed and you need to follow the subject through the lens at all times as you soon loose the planes if you take your eye away from the camera. Things happen fast with jets and sometimes you just need that little bit of luck too!
