This photo was taken just outside my apartment here in New York. These beautiful lily's come back year after year, gracing us with their beauty.Time
I took this after an afternoon walk. It was fully bloomed and turned upward and just absolutely beautiful. It's by far my favorite photograph that I've taken to date.Lighting
The sun was setting just behind our apartment, so the lighting was a bit dusky which really made the vibrant colors pop.Equipment
Oddly enough, this photo was taken with my cell phone, a Samsung Galaxy S4. No flash or photo apps, no tricks or editing. Just the perfect place at the perfect time for a stunning photo.Inspiration
I love lily's. They're a symbol of strength for me, and mean a lot. When I saw how beautiful, vibrant and strong this flower was, I absolutely had to take a photo!Editing

I don't own a camera bag, and to be honest the majority of my photos are taken with my cell phone. It almost makes me have to focus more, really get the right angle and lighting for a fantastic picture. I'd love to have a camera, but I'm a mom of 3, and they come first. I can achieve beautiful snapshots with a little effort and my phone for now.Feedback
Take your time. Beautiful pictures are sometimes taken completely out of the blue, simply because you took the time to notice. Slow down, and see what's around you, what you can capture in photo, and don't rush it. Perfect your shot so you don't NEED to edit or enhance, but if you choose to it only makes it MORE amazing.
