I took this photo during a classic cars show. There were several stands selling antiques, and this motorcycle was lying over there.Time
I think I took this photo during the afternoon. It was a cloudy November day and the sun was up high.Lighting
The weather helped me difusing the light. It was a cloudy day, so the light was very soft, helping to make the transition between the highlights and the shadows very smooth.Equipment
Well, if you are waiting for a fancy gear list here, sorry, no more than a Canon Powershot A610 point-and-shoot camera. It was 2012 and I was taking pictures with that camera. It is a great little camera, with the ability to manually control the aperture and shutter speed.Inspiration
I love classic cars and motorcycles and all the vintage stuff around them. So as soon as I saw it I had to take this picture.Editing
Yes I did. Remember the photo was taken with a point-and-shoot, and the sharpness of course it is not that great, so I enhanced the sharpness a little, and tweaked the contrast, brighten the highlights and darken the shadows. I used Photoshop CS5. I think maybe some noise reduction, and that's all.In my camera bag
At that time in my bag I.... hold on... at that time there wasn't a bag, just a point-and-shoot Canon A610 in my pocket!! It was until 2013 that I purchased my first DSLR. I currently use a Canon EOS 7D with a Canon EF-s 17-55 mm 2.8, awesome lens for a crop sensor camera. It is tack sharp and super versatile. I have a Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM, terrific prime lens. The sharpness is out of this world, and because I use it in a crop sensor camera, it works like a 80mm, making it great for portraits. My last lens is a Canon EF 70-200 f4 L, another tack sharp lens, awesome for portraits too or sport photography.Feedback
I cannot give an advice about how to take a picture like this because the technical side is really easy. Just frame the subjet, change the aperture, shutter speed, click. My only advice would be don't stop yourself from taking pictures. No matter what camera you have, just keep on shooting if you love it. Does a better camera make better photos? The answer is no. YOU make a photo good or bad.
