Photo taken at The Colorado Lagoon in Long Beach, California. I live near the Lagoon and have been going there a lot to get good wildlife captures.Time
I like going there to shoot in the mornings. This one was taken at approx. 9:00 am.Lighting
This was an overcast day so I wasn't sure how the lighting would come out. In this case in turned out great!Equipment
I used an older Sony 200a DLSR. Lens is a Sony marco 5.5-5.6/75-300Inspiration
Living near the Colorado Lagoon which has a wide variety of wildlife has drawn me in and inspired me to start capturing as much of it as I could. I really love shooting The Snowy Egret's they are very photogenic as you can see in the photograph.Editing
I do not use a lot of processing in my photo's. I will do a bit a sharpening , bump the saturation by a point or two and thats about it. I like to keep them looking as natural as possible.In my camera bag
Well , I only have one camera and one lens…I do not carry a bag but maybe someday I will be able to get some more equipment to put in one :)Feedback
Find a body of water on a clam morning and be patient while shooting your subject. I have found that early mornings is when I'm getting my best shots. This one was taken on a overcast morning. I do not use a flash. I set the camera on the high speed function , focus in and start shooting multiple photo's in a row.Get home and upload and see what you got., Sometimes there is one great capture which makes it all worth while.
