I'm from Hungary and I took this photo in Hungary... at the National Theatre in Budapest.Time
I made it last year (2013) between Christmas and New Year. I waited for blue hour and than the train which made light strips.Lighting
I just used a long exposure (20s) with low iso (100) and a big aperture (f18) which made this star style lights. I think this building have beautiful lights and form and we can see it twice because of the reflection.Equipment
I used a Nikon d5100 camera with a 18-55mm nikkor lens and a tripod of course.Inspiration
I saw so many pictures about this building and I liked all. I had to make one own picture here. I like blue hour, the long exposition photos with light painting and the reflections too.Editing
I made the contrast, the shadows and lights with Lightroom. And then a little bit Photoshop because my lens was glittered. In my camera bag
Only my camera, my lens and a lens cleaner. At night the tripod too.Feedback
If you have an awesome idea first take your photo in your mind and than take it in real. If it's not what you want just take an other picture, just trying. I wrote earlier my settings but here it is again: tripod! (very important) iso 100, shutter speed 20s, aperture f18 (it's not so important)and focal lenght 18mm. Just wait for the blue hour (ca. 1 hour after sunset) and wait for trains, cars, buses or airplans (OR paint something with your flashlight it's super fun!)
