Location
I took this photo in my house, in the living room to be more precies.Time
I shot this photo at around 3 in the afternoon.Lighting
The lightning for this shoot was very simple, all natural light around the subject and lights hanging on a Christmas tree on the background to create the bokeh effect.Equipment
Camera: Canon EOS 60D Lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Tripod: Manfrotto MKC3-H02 CompactInspiration
I love the challenge of photographing crystal/glass so for this photo I just wanted to shoot my crystal cognac glass and make it a bit christmassy. The lights hanging from the Christmas tree totally out of focus made a great bokeh effect and gave me the results I was looking for.Editing
I did some post processing for this photo... some color saturation, sharpening, contrast and white balance. In my camera bag
My bag will normally contain: Canon EOS 60D body Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM (ultra wide lens) Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS (zoom lens) Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 APO EX DG HSM OS FLD Canon Speedlite 430EX IIFeedback
If you want to achieve something like this then: - use a tripod - get close to the subject - the more you move the subject away from the background lights the more bokeh you'll get - focus manually - use a wide aperture - use the lowest ISO available
