Behind The Lens

Location

This photo of my brother and his daughter cuddling, was taken indoors sitting on the bed.

Time

Around early afternoon, the natural light was flowing into the room, at first they were playing on the bed together being silly, then my brother warped around his daughter with this nice warm hug and I managed to snap just at the right time, before the playing started again.

Lighting

Only natural light used here, to go with the natural love shared between father and daughter.

Equipment

I used my canon 450d with my 50mm 1.4 lens on.

Inspiration

My brother wanted me to take a few shoots for him while his in laws were in town, and this just happened :)

Editing

I love black and white images, to me it some how gives some images so much more depth, and can really tell the story. Here I have used one of Scott Kelby BW techniques, as I have a few of his books, simple, with a great result all done in Photoshop

In my camera bag

My canon 450d body of course, that's the only one I have, with my canon 24-105mm, also my 50mm lens. Speed light just in case and that's about all the gear I have so far, the tripod is normally in the car already.

Feedback

Try to make the atmosphere as relaxed as possible to get the relaxed shot your after.
