Location
In my home right at my kithen table actually.Time
It was late evening, just getting dark out.Lighting
I left one light on nearby, and used a speed light Nikon external flash.Equipment
I used a Nikon d5100. A speed light external Nikon flash, a tripod, and a super fast shutter speed.Inspiration
I love learning how things in nature (such as raindrops)go thru these little stages when they hit the ground, or hit a puddle, and I just wanted to find a way to capture some of those stages. So I set up my own "puddle" and dropped some little water drops into it.Editing
No.In my camera bag
My bag typically has a Nikon in it. Sometimes a Canon wil sneak it's way in there, but it's rare. My bag also has a few lenses, (wide-angle, macro, and zoom-55-250) a tripod, some cleaning necessities, and an extra (fully charged) camera battery.Feedback
I have always been fascinated with the weather and with God's beautiful creations outdoors, so I tried little experiments like this dropping a few drops of water into a bowl of water (or any liquid) trying to catch the different little stages a raindrop actually goes thru as it falls to the ground or into a puddle. I love the splash and the displacement of the water, I love all of it. My advice is to truly love what you are doing. Willingness to view things from a different perspective is sometimes necessary. But with this kind of thing, it's just trial and error. Of course you apply all that you know, to help the process. I used a quick shutter speed, a bright flash to illuminate the water, and a tripod.
