Behind The Lens

Location

I Took this Foto on a late summer day on Glentana Beach in South Africa. There was a Summer Storm the day before, and on the next day These wonderful clouds was still hanging Around.

Time

After a Great breakfast on the Beach consisting ice cream and fruits, i Made my way to the rocky cliffs where this picture was taken. Was quite a walk, and i Got there late afternoon.

Lighting

The low hanging clouds, combined with the fractured light from a Storm the previous day hellped to create the contrast i was looking for.

Equipment

I Used my old nikon d3100 with a nikkor s24mm. It is manual Focus so i believe i Had it on f11 to get everything sharp. Camera i Balanced firmly on top a Rock.

Inspiration

I was looking to capture the beautiful clouds, and get as much of them as possible Into the Frame. From down on the Beach it wasnt possible, so i had to get higher and climbed the cliffs to get the Shot.

Editing

Yes, just Basic colour, contrast, saturation etc adjustments. I Try to not do too much Post processing, firstly because im Not Good at it, and secondly because i try and get it Right in Frame.

In my camera bag

My tripod allways, my trusty Nikon d750 and my Fuji xt1. Always manual focus lenses, especially my wide and superwide lenses. Spare batteries and assortment of nd and polorizing filters. Of Course some cleaning Material too!

Feedback

Patience is key! The Right Time of day, and light are very important!
