Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken in Putrajaya, the federal capital of Malaysia

Time

1230pm

Lighting

The sun was at its max height which made the umbrellas to light up evenly and probably it was the best time to take the shot

Equipment

Shot with Canon 550d with its standard lens kit, the versatile 18-55mm and it was a handheld shot

Inspiration

The event in Putrajaya was floral show. There were vibrant colors everywhere around and there this place, a small walk way was held with much more bright and colorful umbrellas. My actual vision was to get the colors of both flowers and umbrellas, but unfortunately the walk way cut across in a way which was impossible to get both in view! And the least i could do was to settle with this shot

Editing

Very minimal post processing like highlight and saturation enhancement was done using LR5

In my camera bag

Since 550d, i have come a long way in terms of upgrading my gear... Now i own a sturdy 5D mark 3 with 24-70mm L series lens, 90mm Tamron macro lens. I normally dont shoot much of telephoto worthy images, but now i feel like i should add a long lens to my bag

Feedback

A shot where most of the lines which are visible here could have been either masked post processing or in the first place made to be hidden while taking the image would have been much better!
