This is a Moonbow photograph that I shot in Yosemite NP, April of 2013 during the full moon. It is a rainbow created in the midst of a waterfall at night by moonlight. You can not see it with the naked eye. Thus, you set up take a picture and see if you have it and how good it is. The conditions need to be perfect for it to occur! If the is air is not clear (smoke, fog etc), it will not occur. I tried four nights from various places around Yosemite falls and was only able to capture it one of the four nights. That night was from the valley floor. I also tried, but was unsuccessful from the base of Upper falls and from the peak of the other side of the valley along the trail to Glacier point.
