This doe elk was shot at Point Reyes National Seashore North of San Francisco. I was the first one out on the trail that morning to the point and saw over 100 elk. This was my best photograph of an elk. While on my way back to the car, she popped up. I had to wait 10 minutes for her to become comfortable with me and then I turned and set up my camera and was able to capture this image. She walked off shortly after that like I was not there.
