Papilio demoleus is a common and widespread swallowtail butterfly. It gets its common names from its host plants, which are usually citrus species such as the cultivated lime. Unlike most swallowtail butterflies, it does not have a prominent tail. The butterfly has also been referred to as the Butterfly of Death,[citation needed] a name it shares with a morphologically similar species, Papilio demodocus, which flies in Africa. The butterfly is a pest and invasive species from the Old World which has spread to the Caribbean and Central America.

Behind The Lens

Location
i take this photo on my room indoor set - up , my nephew has a school project the life cycle of a butterfly i take this in my garden , from the caterpilar to butterfly.
Time
waiting for almost a week to full transformation of caterpilar up to the last stages to become a butterfly , some in june 17 2014
Lighting
the lighting is not so especial using my laptop as a background colors and 2 flash lights
Equipment
using canon 60d and macro lens no tripod 2 flasj lights open window because this is indoor set - ups
Inspiration
i love to macro picture anythings but macro , the butterfly we always have in our small garden almost every week we have newly hatch of this kind of butterfly it because the butterfly love more on citrus plants .i have 3 plants of citrus for them...
Editing
using some adjustment in adobe photoshop specially to make a bit vibrant and intense
In my camera bag
macro lens and tripod
Feedback
in my case i use what we have around / inside our house or some things that can help us to be more creative .sometime i using syringe for more big waterdrops ,or how i like to put drops in a location i like, and of course the contrast of all the colors and the balance of harmony in one way to another that's more impotrtant for me...
