Behind The Lens
Location
I took this picture on a work trip down in Sisters, OR.Time
It was close to sunset. I'd just gotten off work and was walking around after eating dinner and exploring the town before driving back home. Walked through some woods and came out next to a large field. Perfect timing and lighting. Couldn't ask for more...except maybe for a tripod.Lighting
Just got lucky with the angle of the setting sun on the clouds and mountains.Equipment
Canon Rebel XTi, 35-88mm, didn't have a tripod on me.Inspiration
When I walked out of the woods and saw this view, I was floored and I knew I had to try to capture it.Editing
Adjusted the color balance and exposure. Cropped to get some power lines out of the frame. In my camera bag
a few different filters, wide angle, telephoto, 50mm fixed, cleaning kit, spare battery, battery grip.Feedback
Scout out locations before hand if possible, bring your camera along whenever you can. You never know when you'll see something really cool or beautiful.
