This photo was taken during a tour I was giving into the Alaskan backcountry. This place is rarely seen by tourists since most go straight to the national park. Having grown up in this area I sometimes take people down this road which is only accessible by 4wheel drive vehicles. This place is one of the first areas in Alaska were gold was discovered and still to this day many small mines still exist. This particular cabin belongs to a small town that the area is named after but today is now deserted since the gold reserves in this part have run out. I used my always reliable Canon Rebel xti for this picture and then ran it through Photomatix Pro before coming out with the final product.
