You Sir are to be congratulated, given the degree of difficulty this is technically inspiring, and an inspiring narrative.

I love this shot, it shows the misery of standing in the snow. I would have covered my camera if I were him.

Not just creative, but also remarkable stamina. Great self-portrait. And glad no camera was harmed. Look like the photographer also made it back inside to upload the shot. 😉

Behind The Lens

Location
I took this self-portrait in my backyard during a snowstorm.
Time
I was watching the snowstorm and decided to do a self-portrait for a winter theme. It was mid-afternoon and the light was very flat and overcast.
Lighting
The snowstorm made the light very flat with very little contrast.
Equipment
I set up my second tripod with my Nikon D850 with a radio remote to fire the camera. I used a 90mm Tamron lens and set it to autofocus.
Inspiration
I love photographing in fresh snow during a storm. I placed a prop Nikon D850 with a broken flash and covered it in snow. I went outside and rubbed snow on myself for effect. I had the remote in my right hand to trigger the camera.
Editing
I did very little processing other than crop and used photoshop curves to add contrast and sharpness.
In my camera bag
I have Nikon D850 Nikon D7100 and a D300 converted to infrared. For lenses, I have a Nikon 50mm F1.4 Nikon 70-200 F 2.8 for Tamron 24-70 Tamron 90mm macro, and a Tamron 150-600 I use Godox for flash
Feedback
I would tell anyone to just have fun and don"t be afraid to get out in bad weather. I have stood in the middle of rain storms and had my [prop] camera covered in mud or ice to create interesting environmental portraits.
