Location
This is a photograph of the sunset over Westward Ho! beach, in North Devon, Taken from the slipway halfway along the beach used by the R.N.L.I. as a look out post.Time
It was taken just before sunset with the clouds reflecting in a pool with pebbles and a pillar left by the retreating tide.Lighting
I love the natural light that i find on this coast, it is never the same twice, and being in the right place at the right time has a lot to do with the quality, many times I have arrived a couple of minutes too late to even bother getting the camera set up, the sun drops so quickly there.Equipment
The camera that I used for this shot is a NIKON D3100,mounted on a tripod. Exposure : 2.5 , Aperture : F8.918863 , ISO : 100, Focal Length : 26mm, with a polarizer filter and a variable ND filter,Inspiration
This is one of my favorite spots to take the sunsets at the beach just around the corner from where I liveEditing
Developed from a RAW file this shot did not need much post-processing, except for a little straightening and a touch of darkening of the contrast. In my camera bag
Nikon D1300. nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5 -5.6, nikkor 55-300 1:4.5-5.6, a circular polarizer, ND variable filter, plus a set of graduated filters, tripod, and as a back up a fuji finepix EXR compact.Feedback
a must have is a sturdy tripod,
