Location
This photo was taken at a playground in NJ.Time
It was early afternoon.. They decided to take five after running around for half an hour so :)Lighting
It wasn't all sunny that time of the day.. You could see the sunlight coming through the trees and it was creating nice patterns on those picnic tables. So I thought it would make the photo more playful.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D90 with 18-55mm f/3.5 lens.Inspiration
When my kids wanted to take a break to have some water we decided to sit at that table together. We were all wearing the same kind of hats that day and I thought it would be a fun family selfie :)Editing
I love B&W photography and how B&W could change the photo's effects on people. So I converted it into B&W. After playing with the contrast and the clarity, the photo became more colorful and powerful than its regular colored version. In my camera bag
I usually have my Nikon D90 and 18-55mm f/3.5 lens with me.Feedback
It's not easy to take photos of toddlers!!! Especially for a family portrait! So you should always have your camera with you and whenever you catch them sitting and happy, you should go for it. A family portrait doesn't have to include nice clothes and a couch :)
