Location
This photo was taken at the lakeshore at lake Tyrifjorden in south eastern Norway, in the the village Vikersund. Famous for the worlds largest ski jump, Vikersundbakken.Time
Its an early morning shot in the last days of decemberLighting
It was a rather cold day, temp was 30degrees Celsius below and the river still open. This created a frozen fog layer, covering the sun and the valley. The morning light beam pink and soft.Equipment
My setup was rather simple, a Nikon D700 with a Nikkor 24- 70 f2.8 Camera was hen held, no mittens.Inspiration
I have been walking the path along this lake many times, in all kind of weather, taking hundreds of pictures. I love the light we get at this really cold frosty mornings. Cold weather, or any kind of bad weather gives interesting light so a weather seals camera, and a weatherproof photographer is a good combination.Editing
Some color enhancement, sharpening and cropping in Aperture 3In my camera bag
Am a bit of a gear junkie, so my bag is always to full. Camera bodies: Nikon D7200, D700 and a D610. Lenses is the so called holy trinity, 14- 24 f2.8; 24- 70 f2.8; 70- 200 f2.8 Then there is a Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art, Nikkor 50mm f1.8 D, Nikkor 85mm f1.8 G, Nikkor 105mm f2,8 micro nikkor, Lee filters, Sekonic L-758 DR light meter, remote controls and different bits and pieces.Feedback
Get really warm clothes, proper mountain boots and thick wool socks, then get early out of bed and get outdoors.
