This photo was taken at a birthday party, for my daughter, and this little cutie, was in attendance, with her family.Time
I took this photo at high noon, outdoors with virtually no shade, except for the adults hovering above her to create 'shade'. This is one of my luckiest shots, that I ever took!Lighting
This is not what you typically consider good lighting, being high noon, but I did like the light in her eyes and the way it fell on her adorable curls! Thankfully, she was so teeny, that the adults in attendance, were able with their hands and bodies to create overhead shade, until I could I get a good shot!Equipment
I used my Canon 6d, with a Canon 85mm 1.8 lens.Inspiration
As soon, as I saw this little girl, and those big eyes, and curls, I asked her family if I could take photos of her!Editing
I cropped and converted to black and white, and that's about it. I wanted to keep it as is, since it was love at first sight, upon viewing this on transfer to my computer. In my camera bag
I am very minimal. I have a Canon 6d, and Canon 85mm1.8 lens, and I finally added a reflector!Feedback
When shooting, shy kids, such as my subject above, you have to get down low, and act super silly, to get their attention! Talk with them, respect them, and smile a lot! You are not always going to have the best light, so work with what you got, as long as you have the subject's eyes facing a light source, you can get a good shot!
