This Photograph was taken at the Bournemouth Air Show, The Red Arrows famous formation is complete once more after an 18 month suspension following the death of two pilots, this was the first outing as the diamond nine.Time
It was taken around 2pm as the red arrows where the first to come out that day, there where thousands of people all lined across the beach, the difficulty is always trying to find that spot, luckily for me the beach wasn't that crowed, we went to the far left of the display, this was the point where they turned to fly back to the crowd.Lighting
I was also lucky that on this day we had cloud, I always prefer taking pictures with clouds behind the shot, adds for a more dramatic picture and it makes The Red Arrows stand out.Equipment
The camera I used was my Canon EOS 6D with Canon EF 70-200mm F/2.8 II IS L USM Lens and a very steady set of hands!Inspiration
The Bournemouth Air festival is apparently one of the best air shows in the world and even better than that is the display is in my back garden.. well 5 minutes away! I wanted to test my skills as I am always looking to create that perfect shot I thought this would be the perfect opportunity, trying to capture a moving object traveling at speeds around Mach 1.2.Editing
The only processing I used was the clarity brush in Lightroom, this was to bring out the smoke trails make them more dramatic. In my camera bag
I have always been a massive fan of photography and I saved every spare penny I had for nearly 2 years to buy the equipment I have at the moment, I currently have Canon EOS 6D, Canon EF 70-200mm F/2.8 II IS L USM Lens and Canon EF 17-40 mm f/4.0 L USM Lens, I love my photography and I am very happy with the equipment, but as I my skills progress I am looking towards my next purchase.Feedback
Partial clouds are always great they add that dramatic flare, I was also told to slowly breath out whilst taking a picture, this steady's the hands.
