Location
This photo was taken on the trail in Danada Forest Preserve in Wheaton, IL.Time
I took this photo during my lunch break. I try to get outside and walk every day, and this particular day, it was especially beautiful out.Lighting
Although this image is an HDR image, it was very close to what it looked like standing there in person. It's hard to explain, but some days the light is just special!Equipment
The camera was an Olympus E-500 with an Olympus 14-45mm F3.5-5.6 lens, zoomed to right about 41mm. It's not a particularly high resolution camera, but Olympus always manages to capture outdoor colors, especially blue, perfectly.Inspiration
I was just standing there looking at this scene and trying to capture the feeling I had at that particular moment. This image does that!Editing
This photo was captured as a single raw file (Olympus .ORF) and processed by SNS-HDR (command line version) using the "dramatic" setting to create the JPEG file. No other post processing was done.In my camera bag
I am currently using an Olympus OM-D EM-10 with the standard Olympus M.14-42mm F3.5-5.6 II R lens.Feedback
I always capture in RAW format. For scenes with such a high dynamic range HDR can work wonders. Traditional HDR uses multiple captures at different exposures, but in many cases a single raw file has enough information to create a nice HDR image.
