Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was apart of a project I did called overlay. The image of the woman was taken in a studio environment with my photography class, and the overlaid picture was a shot I took on my phone while working on the MassPike as a toll collector.Time
The studio shot was don't in the afternoon time, since it was a controlled space, the time didn't matter, the overlaid picture on the other hand was shot around 6 am as the sun was coming up over the toll booths.Lighting
Basic studio lighting and flashes, the morning shot was just direct sunlight into my camera.Equipment
I was using a Nikon d5000 with the basic lens and a hot shoe flash for the studio shot, and my cellphone at the time.Inspiration
The inspiration came from the overlaid shot, those were the images I took on a whim, and knew I'd be able to use them in any scenario. As while working in the studio with my class, we tried many poses and outfits with the model, but the idea of using her dress to consume the empty space was mine, so I had friends hold the back of her dress , and I used editing to hide anything that wasn't necessary to be seen.Editing
Yes. The merging of the 2 images and blending and hiding the background that was still left. And basic color correctionIn my camera bag
I'm a purest, so all I need is my camera. I recently purchased a Nikon Z50 mirror less, so it helps with having to carry less.Feedback
This image was truly conceptualize after the images were taken, so my advice is to to take pictures first, then see which ones will fit together. Ideas come and go, but an image can be taken now, and used years from now, just never stop shooting.
