Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo standing on the new Peace Bridge in Derry Northern Ireland

Time

I took it before I started work about 10am

Lighting

It was the approaching rain clouds that caught my attention & I used the reflections on the river to emphasise this

Equipment

I used my Nikon D300s with Tokina 28-80 f2.8 lens in Manual 1/125 f16 200 ISO -1/4 stop

Inspiration

I love clouds in my landscapes & using the water to emphasise this tends to work for me I used the buildings to help draw you into the photo & I hope that I achieved this

Editing

In my camera bag

I normally carry 2 body's Nikon D300s & D90 with Tokina 28-80 f2.8 & Nikon 180 f2.8 & Jessops 2x converter I feel that these covers me when I'm out & about unless I was going to do something specific like a portrait when I would take my speedlight & reflector

Feedback

The best advice I can give anyone is Always carry a camera even if it's only a compact or your phone Stop & look around We tend to take our own town for granted compared to people visiting can often see things we would overlook Sunrise, Sunsets before or just after a storm for me is the best times to get that perfect shot
