Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was actually taken outside of Kahala mall when my friends boyfriend had surprised her with these flowers because he had to leave early

Time

This was probably taken around 1 pm so the sun was on full blast.

Lighting

He gave her these flowers outside of the mall because it was kind of a spur of the moment kind of thing we were outside so it was clear but the parking lot peered over us blocking the sun just a little giving me a bright light with some cover so it wasn't too bright.

Equipment

I had only used my iPhone at the time I think it was an iPhone 5

Inspiration

My inspiration came from both the flowers and the young couple themselves. She was sad because she had thought he left but he had called her to come outside and surprised her with these flowers. Her face had looked delighted knowing ge still cared and his face lit up knowing she wasn't sad anymore those flowers seemed like a promise of next time. In person, those flowers had more then beauty they had meaning, and in those moments as this situation was unraveling I had felt all of this. so I need a picture of those flowers.

Editing

I had brought out more of the pink in the flowers. Also sort of sharpened the white of the flowers so it had a little bit more of a contrast. Also to bring out the small white flowers in the middle cause those seemed like a good focus.

In my camera bag

I used to carry around an actual camera and sometimes a tripod depending on what I was shooting, but now days I just have my phone which is now a Samsung, and a little hand camera (which is only a fujifilm, nothing fancy) if I'm trying to take a more detailed shot.

Feedback

Flowers are usually vibrant or have a vibrant component to them so I suggest making sure the lighting doesn't affect the sight of both the light and more vibrant parts. I also reccomend to try and get every important part of the flower so you can see its full beauty.
