Location
This photo was taken in my dining room located in Pleasant Grove, Utah. My wife and I planned to try this on a day we both had off from work. Once clearing the room of table and chairs we just went for it.Time
This was taken during the morning hours of spring after a good cocktail breakfast. I waited til the sun was just high enough to achieve this exposure.Lighting
This was taken using only natural light through the window. My thinking was less light would be easier to work with than too much light, especially coming in from the side. I would like to have tried a bit of diffused light but don't have the equipment.Equipment
Canon Rebel XTI on a tripod and some self taught trial and error.Inspiration
The behind the glass contest inspired the idea for this shot. Using the glass table top seemed like a unique idea as I hadn't seen such a shot. Also it had been a while since asking my wife to pose for me and we had fun.Editing
Just a little white balance and color correction in Lightroom. I wanted this to look as natural as possible. In my camera bag
I don't really have any equipment other than the basic camera. I would like to have a good working relationship with aperture, ISO & shutter speed before adding anything more to my bag.Feedback
I'm self taught and have much to learn so I don't feel qualified to give advice. However, framing an image nicely in natural light should be easy for anyone in my opinion. I didn't think of it at the time but checking the settings used by other photographers in similar situations would be educational.
