I don't normally like manipulated photos. Its convincing enough to be real (it may very well be) And I love it.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at Busse Woods in Schaumburg/Elk Grove, IL.

Time

I took this in the afternoon getting close to the golden hour

Lighting

I have always loved bridges and how they just look so captivating with the contrast in the light. This one is very bold with the red color so I wanted to capture the length of it to seem to go forever. No special tricks with the lighting just took a bunch of shots and choose the one I liked best.

Equipment

Nikon D40 18-55mm no flash no tripod

Inspiration

I love contrast with dark and light. City Buildings and bridges are a good example of this. They have such a dark gritty feel and makes the image more powerful when you look it.

Editing

Adobe photoshop cs5 with adjustments to saturation, contrast and exposure. The effect I used on the photo was twisted

In my camera bag

I now have a Cannon Eos40d 2 lenses a 28-135mm & Canon EF80-200mm

Feedback

Time of day and location are always a factor but for me I would say just learning to keep your eyes peeled for special moments and places that have significance. With practice, you will begin to notice these more and more.
