Awesome shot. It just makes me want to know about the situation.....living in Idaho, I'm very, very curious about bears......

Wonderful bear shot. I got some nice Cinnamon Bear shots last October.

Location
This photograph was taken in the northern portion of Yellowstone National Park.Time
This image was captured at around 6:15 pm in the shaded timber. It was the time of day we all know our shutter speeds are about to challenge our hand held photography.Lighting
I do my best to keep my camera preset for the lighting conditions and also for what I might expect to see in those conditions. In this case of the stalk I found myself spinning dials/ISO settings and opening my aperture to gain reasonable hand held shutter speeds. The advise I'd been given years ago about keeping ones eye in the view finder while making adjustments helped greatly with this shot.Equipment
The camera I used for this shot is a Nikon D610 topped with a Nikkor 28-300 mm zoom lens all contained safely inside my truck throughout this shoot. :)Inspiration
I've loved Bears since I was a small boy. Everything about them fascinates me, their bodies are so similar to humans when looked at closely. The feeling only a Bear can give the photographer when it stares you right in the eye's, as if to be deciding your fate, is reason enough to inspire one to photograph such a great animal. Never have I been more impressed by an animal, as I was with this large Brown Bear.Editing
Yes, this photo was cropped and the exposure was adjusted. In my camera bag
My bag is very simple. I carry a sling bag that contains my Camera and one lens, along with extra batteries. I carry cleaning supplies that include a Rocket air blaster, Qtips, extra Satin cleaning clothes, with a small bottle of rubbing alcohol. I also carry extra SD cards. With my camera bag I keep my spider pro holster system that I use religiously.Feedback
The photo "The Stalk" was photographed from inside a running vehicle from a paved roadway with the window down. I was ready to leave the scene if needed. My advice for anyone photographing any dangerous Critters is Safety. This Bear was within twenty five yards at one point and expressed no fear of humans. Be careful... :)
