Location
I took this photo during a trip to the national park "Bayerischer Wald" which is located in the east of Bavaria, near the border to the Czech Republic.Time
This picture was taken at about 01:30 pm in may. It was a overcast day with no sunlight which probably helped a lot for this location.Lighting
It was a overcast day with no direct sunlight which probably helped a lot for this location.Equipment
For this shot I used a Sigma 4.5-5.6/8-16 on my Pentax K-5. At ISO 80 and F/16 I achieved a shutter speed of 1/2s. I did not want to stop down the lens even more and there are no filters to fit on this lens. So 1/2s was the maximum I could get. And, of course, I used a tripod and 2 second mirror pre-fire for this shot.Inspiration
I am a great fan of waterfalls and I try to find them wherever I travel.Editing
This photo was shot in RAW format so it had to be processed for which I use Photoshop CS6. I had to adjust the white balance just a little and I cropped a little bit.In my camera bag
Along with my Pentax K-5 I carry in my bag most of the time the before mentioned Sigma 4.5-5.6/8-16 and a Tamron 2.8/17-50. I also use a Tamron 2.5/90 Macro (manual focus but great sharpness) and a Pentax 1.7/50 (autofocus). For wildlife photos I use a Sigma 4.5-5.6/120-400 APO DG OS HSM as my main lens together with a Pentax 2.8/50-135 which I only bought some months ago.Feedback
Of course, use a tripod and mirror lock-up. If it is possible, use a polarizing filter to eliminate reflections on the wet rocks. And don't try this with the sun shining, you only will be dissappointed by the results.
