This strikingly solemn and serene shot makes me want to call it a masterpiece from the paint brush. Rarely seen something so beautiful.

Absolutely breathtaking capture made even more amazing by the fact that you took this on your phone!

Location
It was taken at Tidelands Park, Coronado California, looking east to the boat anchorage.Time
It was taken early morning, approximately 0900 hrs on October 2012.Lighting
As you can see, there was a Dense Fog and the sun was hidden for the most part but it gave off a very soft diffuse beam of light that barely lit the boats in the center of the picture.Equipment
This photo was taken with a Cell Phone, a DROID Razr.Inspiration
There was a mystical quality of the scene. The sailboats were perfectly spaced apart and that soft diffuse beam of sunlight just grabbed my eye. I did not have my regular camera and only had my cell phone. As you know older cell phones are not the greatest at capturing low light situations and I just held my breath hoping it would turn out. It did.Editing
Nothing but a minor cropping to the image. In my camera bag
New Nikon Coolpix S9700 camera. An old Sony DSC V3 Digital. 16 Mega Pixel Samsung SM-G900V new Cell Phone.Feedback
Sometimes luck is on our side. Even if conditions for your equipment may not seem perfect, give it a try and keep trying until you get the results you were hoping for. I turned so the lighting source was off to the side and I think that helped in capturing the image.
