Location
At the Oklahoma city zoo, in the reptile house. I can spend hours in there practicing on my lighting because it is dark and I love the way the reptiles seem to look right at the camera.Time
It was probably around 12pm. I go to the zoo so often to photograph the animals I forget when I was or wasn't there!Lighting
I am really not too sure, I am not very experienced in lighting so I was just testing everything so I can learn a little better.Equipment
It was shot with a Canon T2i and a 55-250mm lens, no flash.Inspiration
I like this viper because he always seems like he is posing for me. This time i sat and just watched for the right moment, when suddenly I realized that I had shot him at the exact time his tongue came out!Editing
I do not know a lot about post-processing, only the little that I have taught myself. But I did use a simple editor to enhance the color slightly in this photo. In my camera bag
I always carry my entire arsenal of things in my bag, which really is impressively small, but the simpleness of it makes me happy! I carry my favorite lens, the 55-250mm and a smaller 18-55 lens as well. I have my tripod and always 3 backup batteries(Ive had way too many mishaps without them), and at least 3 SD cards because I know I will always take more photos than I think. I also bring my GoPro and lots of lens caps for the many that I will lose!Feedback
The zoo has so much more to offer than a quick glance and a quick shot of the animal. Stop. Spend some time watching the animal and see what it does. Because the chances are, the more time you spend watching it, the more likely you are to catch it doing something different than the thing it was doing in all the other people's photos.
