Behind The Lens

Location

South of France

Time

This would have been around high noon and was a nice warm and dusty day... The guy in the photo is the great grandson of a very famous occultist and was spending time in France to overcome his addiction to gambling...he had taken to landscape gardening and so we were always travelling to remote places and this happened to be an old disused stone mine...

Lighting

Only that the sun was high and the stones were quite light coloured and so made great light reflectors...

Equipment

This was shot on a canon d60 with a telephoto 80-210mm sigma lens at 1/60 and f/11

Inspiration

Inspiration for this photo came from the fact that this new beau of mine was always showing off to me how strong he was so when I remembered about perspective and how one can easily lie through this medium then I thought that would make a great shot...

Editing

No post processing

In my camera bag

I always have my canon g12 as a remarkable compact choice and then a couple of canon slr bodies like the d7 and possibly a little rebel in there too.. A nice 50mm f1.8 for just about all lighting possibilities.. And a wide angle if I'm landscaping... Always always plenty of batteries and maybe a flash or two.. Oh, and mint chocolate choc bars

Feedback

To understand how perspective works, put yourself and your 'sitter' or objects in many different positions, from the ground up, look at variants of turning through 360 degree.. Open up possibilities by exploring your surroundings and think about birdseye views
