Location
I took this image in the backyard of the house we were renting at the time. My mom is a teacher and was releasing butterflies her class had raised.Time
This was early afternoon, so the butterflies had a chance to warm their wings in the sun before their first real flight.Lighting
This was taken in bright sunlight, in the early afternoon.Equipment
I actually used a Finepix point and shoot. I was just beginning to explore photography, and didn't know anything about DSLRs or different formats.Inspiration
I was watching these tiny little creatures being released, and I didn't want to miss the moment.Editing
My guess is that I boosted the contrast a little on this image. I don't actually remember, and I didn't know much about editing. In my camera bag
Now I carry a Nikon D5300, a 70-300mm lens, an 18-55mm lens, a hood, and a few filters.Feedback
Stay aware of the small things around you. The moment is gone so fast - don't miss it!
