fond of textures, like the foreground, also love depths/layers, here i see at least 4, the 2nd being stretched upto the tree where the canal-like structure & the area on the sides of it make my eyes follow it, wish there was some more sky to show some more of the bright & dark areas around the moon

Superb job with a compact camera! Love the blue moodiness and how the canal draws you in to the tree, and then the dog! Fantastic photo!

A wonderful shot! It does give the impression of being lonely. I love your style Wake.

This is a good example of the push pull effect some images have when there are not one, but two POV. It's obvious that the lines are PUSHING your eye to The focal point that is the tree, but, the real strong PULL isf the true focal point which is the dog. The image is a lonely mystery, a conflict of feelings and questions. Why is the dog frozen in time, what does he see? Not an easy task at capturing more than one point of interest in the same image. Really well done! You have a natural talent to see the unforeseen and capture it for all to see. Keep up the great work!

Gorgeous! The Texture and clarity of the foreground and also the over all capture are fantastic! Love how the eye is drawn to the tree & the dog, but also the glow from behind the tree from the moon and the faint apperance of the few lingering stars! Well done!

You said you did this with just a compact camera? That's amazing (as with all your other work). I was going to add a lot of your work to my favorites, but then I decided it was probably better just to add a couple and follow you.

Photos and paintings are a special value to the looker especially when it reminds them of a place, a moment, or experience in their life. As a teen, I rode an old Ski Doo snowmobile in upstate NY at midnight with no head light (just the full moon for our natural "nightlight") no wind sheild in a clear full moon -30 degree night with adult friends for fun. Many times we rode off trail, I had no seat so I stood to balance on the soft snow. This reminds me of that night. And I dont think that dog is lonely, he probably has the howl of the wolves to hear, the smells in the air, and the river in the distance with the wind through the evergreens.
