Location
I took this photo on the way to the drilling rig site in the North of Russia. This is a very remote location. I am a self-trained photographer.Time
I took this photo in April 2014. The sky is quite offten very nice and unusual in this place.Lighting
no, just the sky.Equipment
I used camera Nikon d90 + Tokina 11-16/2.8. Hand-held.Inspiration
This area is very inspirational for taking pictures day and night. However, sometimes it can be very cold down to minus 50 in Winter and up to +35 in Summer-time. This doesn't stop me taking photos ;-) when I am on working shift (30 days) in this remote oilfield area.Editing
Sure I did some post-processing. I prefer HDRrish look, even when I take only one shot in RAW/NEF format. In my camera bag
When on working shift I have in my bag only my camera with one lens (mostly wide angle) + simple tripod. When at home or travelling somwhere my bag gets heavier: camera, 2-3 lenses, couple tripods, monopod, weather-proof cover, charger, remore control, etc.Feedback
I am just amateur photographer and cannot give any specific advice. I guess if you like taking interesting pictures, keep your camera always with you as possible. I had missed some quite amazing pictures to take last year because I did not have my camera with me at that moment. This year I was greatfull to myself that I had my camera with me and managed to take some shots of Polar lights (very nice phenomenon in the night sky). Thank a lot for your time reading my comments.
