Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my hometown in Arkhangelsk (North West of Russia).

Time

I took morning walk along the embankment after the heavy showfall. The river was frozen and covered with show, so it looked like a snow desert. It was not too cold for my Nikon D90, something about below 18 deg.C. :)

Lighting

Nothing special.

Equipment

Handheld Nikon D90 + Nikkor 18-105.

Inspiration

I liked the view of black poles and fence on the naturally highlighted backround by the whiteness of the fresh snow.

Editing

I only did some contrast adjustment in Photoshop.

In my camera bag

For winter landscape photography I usually take my old Nikon D90 + wide angle lense Tokina 11-16. I also put in my bag macro lense Tamron 60, f2.0. in Spring, Summer and Autumn. Sometimes I use tripod.

Feedback

I guess everyone knows about dew point which can damage photocamera. I always keep my camera in the bag for at least one hour after getting from cold to warm place. I have lots of my pictures taken even below 40 deg.C. My camera has survived six Winter seasons already :) Thanks a lot for reading my notes. My kind regards to all members of the Viewbug :)
