This was shot from my in law's deck at their town house in Bristol Rhode Island, we were visiting in early spring and I would go out and watch the sunsets every night on the bay and take pictures while sitting there.Time
It was in the evening in spring, the colors of the sunsets really seem to be very vivid in that part of Rhode Island in the spring and fall.Lighting
I just loved how the sun suddenly moved between the branches and the oranges suddenly seem to become more vivid. The way the sun was shining also made the tree stand out a little more.Equipment
I shot this with my Canon AE-1, with the Canon FD 20 mm lens using Fuji film 100, I set the camera on a manfratto tripod and shot at various settings.Inspiration
I just loved the tree and the sun on the bay, and the sunsets were always so beautiful from their backyard on the water. Anytime we went to visit, I would always go out at sunset and watch it from their pation.Editing
I used Photoshop Lightroom and did some minor cleaning as there was some dust spots and a little bit of sharpening. In my camera bag
I have my Canon AE-1, and a A-1, a 20 mm lens, 35-105 mm lens, a 200 mm macro, a polarizing filter, manfratto tripod and fuji 50 & 100 filmFeedback
Spring and Fall sunsets on the water can be very vivid. Also when the leaves are off the tree really help enhance the photo too. I would also spend some time if possible scouting out some locations to shoot from different angles. I walked around their town house area and watched the sun's angles. Also arrive early and be ready to shoot and I stay even a bit after a sunset as there is always a chance to capture some beautiful sky colors after the sun sets.
