Location
It was taken in Michigan City, Michigan. I was working near there in La Porte, Indiana for two weeks. I heard there was a lighthouse in Michigan City so I went there a few times after work.Time
It was taken at sunset in the spring. The day this was taken I barely made it in time to get any light.Lighting
I barely made it in time for the sunset, but it was a beautiful golden sunset.Equipment
This was shot with my old trusty Olympus Evolt. No flash, no tripod it was completely handheld.Inspiration
I love lighthouses and the history behind them and I am such a lover of water and sunset lighting is my favorite. So basically it was three things I loved and the walkway with the lights made a perfect set of lines drawing the eye to the focal point.Editing
I increased the contrast but that was really about it.In my camera bag
Currently I have my Nikon 5200D, a nifty fifty, 18-200 Nikon lens, flash, and a few extra batteries, a ND and CF Filter, and several extra cards.Feedback
Travel and experience the world, look for beauty around yourself as you will occasionally find something in the most unexpected places. Look for things in your backyard that you may have overlooked because you see it everyday the beauty may be lost to you but it doesn't mean its not beautiful. In this case I didn't think on this trip that I would find something this beautiful but I did. Just because you are afraid you will miss the perfect light keep driving because you just might make it in time.
