I my heart hurts for him and many more,, God Bless them all that have gone on and those that remained to keep a memory of them alive... My dad was in Vietnam, he was a mess Sgt. while there, but also was a door gunny and went and picked guys up dead or alive,, :( he stayed in after he got home, he passed away in 2008, it was still hard for him to speak of his tour... so sad.. Thank you everyone for your comments. I have told my friend of your expressions of thanks and he was very moved. Vietnam vets don't feel as though they are as appreciated as, say, WWII or Korea vets, or even the vets coming out of the current conflict. Once again, from my friend and me, thank you so much.
