Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in the Iceland Hilton. I used a fisheye lens, and converted the image into black and white.

Time

I am not sure what time, probably in the evening when I returned to the hotel.

Lighting

I love staircases and this one is one of my favorites. I am returning to Iceland later this month and will take this photo again, using a different lens.

Equipment

I used a Nikon d300 with a Nikon 10.5 fisheye lens. No tripod as I was hanging over the staircase looking down.

Inspiration

I love photography, all of it. It is my passion for many years. I love staircases and will always photograph a staircase when I see one. This one was perfect for a fisheye. I went to the top floor, looked down and took several photos.

Editing

This image was process using photoshop, I converted it to black and white with a filter

In my camera bag

I usually carry my Nikon d750 with a Nikon 28-300 lens. I often have either my 14 mm wide angle or my 16 mm fisheye lens. I have some filters, shutter release, lens cleaners, extra batteries and extra memory cards.

Feedback

Practice, shoot often, shoot everything. Post on social media and get feedback for lighting, composition and content.
