This photo is taken in Al-Fayyoum desert, Egypt during a hiking trip with a friend of mine.Time
It was taken before the sunset by one hour, it was cloudy already and the sun rays were penetrating the clouds.Lighting
I stopped in the middle while my friend continued towards the peak, he stopped for a moment and i noticed he seemed to stand under the clouds and silhouetted.Equipment
I used my Nikon D5000, hand held without any filters or special effects.Inspiration
The sun ray fighting behind the clouds to hit the earth and my friend's dark figure gave a dramatic effect for this photo, as if he was a conqueror or victorious.Editing
I made just a little bit contrast and lighting on this photo, also there was a little patch of the sky that was over exposed so i covered it with clouds from the same photo.In my camera bag
I normally have a single body (Nikon D7100) , two or 3 lenses (Nikkor 35mm f/1.8, Tokina 12-27f/4, Sigma 150-500mm f/3.t-5.6 in case i'm anticipating for wild life) extra battery and memory cards, along with polarized and ND filters if needed.Feedback
Be patient and alerted to the changing light around you specially before sunset and sunrise as the changes happens fast, take only the necessary equipment and keep yourself light-weighted. And don't forget to wear suitable clothes and shoe.
